Greens MPs Jenny Leong and David Shoebridge will be holding an 11:00am press conference to discuss the disturbing evidence of NSW police trolling Jenny Leong's Facebook site.
The Greens have referred the matter of the police internet trolling to the Police Integrity Commission. Racism and sexism in our society is never acceptable, and while everyone knows there is a dark side to the internet, if these actions have been undertaken by members of the NSW Police serious repercussions must occur.

Jenny Leong MP, Member for Newtown said:
“The alleged re-posting and liking of offensive memes by members of the NSW Police is nothing short of disgusting and it is essential that the NSW Police Minister and Police Commissioner take immediate steps to make it clear that this behaviour by any member of the police, who are supposed to be respectable members of the public service is unacceptable.”
“In response to members of the NSW Police, including those in senior positions, re-posting and liking offensive memes with pictures and vile comments about me, an elected member of the NSW Parliament, we have referred this matter to the Police Integrity Commission.”
“Racism and sexism in our society is never acceptable, and while everyone knows there is a dark side to the internet, if these actions have been undertaken by members of the NSW Police serious repercussions must occur.”
“The role of the police is to protect the community from harmful and aggressive behaviour, given this it is completely unacceptable that police would be actively contributing to sexist and racist attacks.
