After years of community pressure by Lift Redfern and other groups, a lift is now operational at Redfern Station. It operates on Platform 6/7, giving access to the Inner West line.

MP for Newtown Jenny Leong has drawn attention to the serious issue of train station accessibility within the Electorate in Parliament, noting that seven of the nine stations in the area do not have ramps or other accessible options.

Following the opening of the Redfern Station lift, she said “While this is a great start we must now push to ensure that all of Redfern Station – and our other local stations - are accessible.”
