Jenny Leong MP drew the Parliament's attention to the fantastic work of the Greek Welfare Centre that provides services and programs to empower individuals and groups from the Greek community and the community at large.

Jenny Leong MP attended the launch of the 'COVID-19 Racism Incident Report'  which captured racist incidents against Asians in Australia that arised due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic. She gave a statement in Parliament to recognise the report and those who contributed.

The Wear the Change Fundraiser, organised by The Social Outfit in Newtown, raised funds for their non-profit community programs which support refugee and migrant women with training, education and employment pathways in the fashion industry.

Jenny Leong MP spoke to the Parliament to alert them to the fact it is Refugee Week and thanked the organisations working to support refugees and asylum seekers in NSW.

Jenny Leong MP drew the attention of Parliament to the powerful new mural of Adam Goodes painted last Thursday on a building on the corner of Foveaux St and Crown Street Surry Hills in the electorate of Newtown.

Jenny Leong MP spoke to Parliament to acknowledge those that started the Newtown Blessing Box and also thank those that have been donating goods. 

Jenny Leong MP called on Parliament to celebrate the contribution of Maggie from Maggies Thai to the Erskineville community as well as to firefighters during the bushfires.

Jenny Leong MP recognised recent sustainability initiatives in the Newtown electorate; The Newtown Neighbourhood Centre who partnered with the Sydney Sustainability Centre for the Newtown Festival and the work by Young Henry's brewery to have a positive carbon footprint. 

Extinction Rebellion Sydney has been hosting a silent vigil outside the gates of the NSW Parliament every morning this week and Jenny Long MP spoke to them, and also drew attention to them in Parliament. 

Jenny Leong MP congratulated Redfern resident, Dr Sophie Calabretto who was a finalist for the 2019 Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Promoting Understanding of Science.
