Greens oppose One Nation’s Education Amendment Bill
The Greens NSW oppose One Nation’s Education Amendment Bill in the strongest terms.
There is no place for transphobia in our school system and this attempt to make it official school policy, risking the health, wellbeing, safety and education of trans and gender diverse kids and teachers is nothing short of disgraceful.

Unlike domestic students in NSW, international students are not eligible for travel concessions.
In 2006, this was determined to be racial discrimination, but still today the practice continues.
For decades students, student organisations, universities and community groups have been campaigning for international students to be able to have equal access to travel concessions as their local counterparts.
Now is the time for us to finally fix this - and end this discrimination in our laws.
Urge the Premier to support the Bill to grant international students travel concessions - SIGN THE PETITION HERE.

Big win! Globe Wilkins Preschool is saved!
In June this year it was amazing to join parents, kids, educators, the Minister for Early Childhood Education Sarah Mitchell, the Member for Summer Hill, Jo Haylen MP and Globe's Director, Judie Don, to hear the Minister's announcement that Globe Wilkins Preschool will continue on the Wilkins Public School site.
This is a big win for all the parents and local community involved in the Save Globe Wilkins campaign who must be congratulated for campaigning hard to keep this invaluable preschool in our community. We were pleased to be able to make sure that the NSW Government was aware of the role that Globe Wilkins Preschool has played in setting the high bar of excellence in early childhood education over many years, and this announcement shows that all the great work done in this preschool has been recognised. Building a new preschool at Wilkins will mean that the excellent work Globe Wilkins does with its Aboriginal Preschool Language program and its ongoing support for children with a disability, will continue and grow.
Greens Councillor Tom Kiat and some of our Inner West Councillors from across the political spectrum worked collaboratively on the campaign to save Globe. The Greens are 100% committed to maintaining and expanding early childhood education services.
We need more investment in publicly funded early childhood centres and preschools so that they are accessible to everyone - and this win is a big step in the right direction to achieving this.
