The Greens for Newtown Campaign is hosting 'Tour De Newtown'!
We're inviting anyone with a bike (or anyone who can borrow one) to join us for a bike ride around the electorate.
Part bike tour, part low key exercise, part spin around the block, and all very Newtown, our 'Tour de Newtown' will circumnavigate the extremities of the new electorate of Newtown in a civilised, low-impact/high-enjoyment, perspiration-is-discouraged kind of way.You don't need to be an expert cycling enthusiast, and if you'd like to you can join us for one of the 'legs' instead of coming for the whole thing.
We'll also be demonstrating and highlighting the need for more safe cycling infrastructure in our city. We need a world class network of bike paths for people to safely commute and travel around our neighbourhoods.
Stay tuned for more details on how to register, but for now we can tell you that we'll be starting in Newtown and visiting Redfern, Surry Hills, Darlington, Petersham and Marrickville!
