The Baird Government’s Urban Growth plans include massive overdevelopment along Parramatta Road. It will directly affect residents of the Electorate of Newtown living in Taverners Hill, Camperdown and surrounding suburbs.
There are no targets for affordable housing, no guarantees about sustainability and a serious risk to open space. There are also no guarantees that these new and expanded neighbourhoods will have the critical infrastructure they need such as schools, sporting fields, medical facilities or public transport.
So we’ve decided to tackle Urban Growth head on – by getting out into the community and doorknocking to activate locals to stop this overdevelopment madness.
