I express solidarity with trans, non-binary and gender diverse communities, against any and all attacks on their lives, their dignity and their freedoms.
I condemn conservative voices in the media, in politics and in our communities who seek to demean and degrade trans lives and experiences for self-interested political gain.
I pledge to use my voice to join the call for an end discrimination against trans, non-binary and gender diverse people in our laws and in our communities, and to push for much needed reform to:
- Remove legal barriers to ensure trans, non-binary and gender diverse people can access ID that aligns with their gender
- Update the NSW Anti-discrimination Act to provide adequate protection for all trans, non-binary and gender diverse people
- Remove exemptions that allow religious schools, organisations and small businesses to discriminate against trans, non-binary and gender diverse people
- Ensure that trans, non-binary and gender diverse people can participate fairly and with respect and dignity in all parts of society, including in sport
Solidarity with trans, non-binary and gender diverse communities
Right now, trans, non-binary and gender diverse people are under extraordinary attacks from conservatives - in the media, in politics and in our communities. Now more than ever it's important for allies to step up and express solidarity with these communities.
Everyone deserves the right to participate in our society, to live free from discrimination and to be protected from harm. The Greens will always stand with the trans, non-binary and gender diverse communities, for recognition and equal rights enshrined in law - and respect and dignity in our society.
