Following the enormous outpouring of stories of sexual violence and harassment triggered by a poll on Chanel Contos' instagram after she shared her story of assault, a campaign and petition launched calling for holistic, comprehensive and mandatory consent education in all NSW Schools.
Within weeks, a roar of women's voices united in opposition to the stories that were emerging of sexual violence in our parliament and schools and the campaign for consent law reform was building momentum.
Chanel Contos then launched a NSW Parliament epetition which was sponsored by Jenny Leong MP. The epetition reached 20 000 signatures and on June 24 at 4pm this epetition will be debated in NSW Parliament. While Covid restrictions mean we are unable to watch in the chamber, we have booked two rooms in NSW Parliament for those who are interested in watching the debate.
Numbers are limited but if you are interested in watching the debate, register below.
